Things to know about picking a health insurance plan...

TransPacific has designed several medical plans to fit your specific medical needs.

These categories show how costs are shared between you and your plan. Plan categories have nothing to do with the quality of care.

Major Medical Insurance

It’s essential to think about your total health care costs, not just the premium. Other out-of-pocket costs have a significant impact on your total health care spending — sometimes more than the premium.

We have different health insurance plans designed to meet your different needs—Major Medical Coverage, Limited Benefits Coverage, and essential coverage. Our Major Medical Insurance plans are designed to cover a majority percentage of the medical costs an average individual or family will pay in a given year. Major medical insurance is long-term, comprehensive health and catastrophic coverage.

Limited Benefit Insurance

In contrast, Limited Medical insurance provides coverage for everyday illness and accidents at affordable rates by offering specific benefits with capped coverage limits.

Essential Benefit Insurance

Essential Benefit Insurance is not a comprehensive major medical plan, nor is it intended to replace a major medical plan. The plan is intended to provide you and your covered dependents with basic insurance coverage that is capped at specific amounts for specific services.

Essential Health Benefits include items and services in the following ten benefit categories: (1) ambulatory patient services; (2) emergency services; (3) hospitalization; (4) maternity and newborn care; (5) laboratory services; (6) preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management; and (7) pediatric services.

Some plans may limit your provider choices or encourage you to get care from the plan’s network of doctors, hospitals, and other medical providers, helping you save out-of-pocket money. Other plans may pay a greater share of costs for providers outside the plan’s network. Learn more about our health insurance plans and pick a health insurance plan that’s right for you.

Since January 2017, changes in U.S. immigration enforcement policy and increased enforcement activity have caused fear among immigrants and their families, undermining trust in the U.S. government agencies and resulting in eligible people going without access to health care.

Suppose you are a member of immigrant families. In that case, it is safe to apply for health coverage, particularly if their family includes someone who is not authorized to be in the United States. We want to address these concerns.

The U.S. laws and policies about immigrants’ eligibility for health coverage have not changed. TransPacific is a New Zealand insurance company and does not offer insurance to United States citizens. We offer insurance to all non-United States, so long as you have a residential address outside the United States.

U.S. Federal and state laws protect the privacy of people who apply for or use health coverage and prohibit any information from being disclosed in the process of applying for coverage. This information is used only to determine the applicant’s eligibility for insurance and not for immigration enforcement purposes.
